PARC NATIONAL DE LA GASPÉSIECascapédia–Saint-Jules
The high point of any hiking adventure, the Parc national de la Gaspésie offers access to an exceptional mountainous environment. The Chic-Chocs and McGerrigle mountains criss-cross the park. Among these rolling peaks is Mount Jacques Cartier, the second highest summit in Quebec. These mountain chains greatly influence the local climate that shapes this whole landscape offering a variety of areas unique to Quebec, and indeed the whole world. Alpine Arctic vegetation and tundra landscapes are home to a herd of wood caribou, the last representatives of this species that remains south of the St. Lawrence River.
